About

After more than a decade in the sales tax world, I finally had enough!
If you’ve ever asked, “What's the rate for this Zip code?”, you’re part of the problem (but I forgive you).

Here’s the thing: ZIP codes don’t matter. They were never meant for sales tax, never meant to define boundaries, and definitely never meant to make me question my career choice. But somewhere along the way someone decided ZIPs and tax rates should be best friends, and now we’re all paying for it.

Look, I get it. Your system was built in 1990 and only knows how to speak in five-digit codes. But that’s not my problem. The truth is, your ZIP code can’t handle the truth. Give me your address. Better yet, show me your LAT/LONG, that’ll tell me your rate faster and more accurately than any ZIP ever could.

So, as an outlet for my professional frustration (and maybe mild trauma), I created Zip Codes Don’t Matter. A brand born out of exasperation and powered by sarcasm. Because if I have to deal with ZIP codes, I might as well make it mildly more acceptable
